Removal Procedure

  1. Front Wheel Drive Shaft- Right Side (1) - Remove - Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side

  2. Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield (2) - Remove - Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield Replacement

  3. Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect [2x]

  4. Remove the retainers (2) then reposition the wiring harness as necessary.
  5. Power Transfer Unit Bracket (2) - Remove - Power Transfer Unit Bracket Replacement

  6. Propeller Shaft@Transfer Case - Remove - Propeller Shaft Replacement
  7. Power Transfer Unit Vent Hose Retainer (1) @Turbocharger Outlet Duct Connector - Disconnect

  8. Power Transfer Unit Vent Hose (2) @Power Transfer Unit Case (3) - Disconnect
  9. Support the power transfer unit with a suitable jack, and secure with suitable straps.
  10. Power Transfer Unit Bolt (1) - Remove

  11. Power Transfer Unit Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  12. Power Transfer Unit Case (1) @Transmission - Remove

  13. Remove and DISCARD the power transfer unit face seal (1).
