Installation Procedure
- Install a NEW intermediate steering shaft boot clamp (1) onto the intermediate steering shaft boot.
- Position the intermediate steering shaft boot in the vehicle.
- Intermediate Steering Shaft - Install
- Prepare the intermediate steering shaft lower bolt (2) for installation.
- Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive. (2)
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. (2) Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 42 N.m (31 lb ft)
- Slide the intermediate steering shaft boot (1) downwards and onto the steering gear.
- Use the DT-35910
Drive Axle Boot Clamp Pliers (1) to install the NEW intermediate steering shaft boot clamp.
- Front Compartment Air Deflector (1) - Install - Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Base)Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Oil Filter Access)
- Install the left front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Inner Boot (1) - Install - Intermediate Steering Shaft Inner Boot Replacement
- Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft - Install - Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
- Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side - Install - Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side
- Remove the CH-42640
Steering Column Anti-Rotation Pin (1) from the steering column lower access hole.
