WARNING: When a liftgate hydraulic system component is removed, installed or disconnected, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle, liftgate hydraulic system, or personal injury. CAUTION: DO NOT exceed the limit of the liftgate power assist actuator ball socket joint's free motion during installation to prevent possibility of damage to the actuator. Preliminary Procedure Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel- Left Side - Remove - Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Replacement
1	Liftgate Power Assist Actuator Procedure Release the locking tabs on the strut. Disconnect the electrical connector. Install the actuator to the body bracket pivot first and then install to the liftgate pivot. Ensure the clip is fully seated when the strut is reinstalled. If the clip cannot be fully seated, a new strut should be installed.

Liftgate Power Assist Actuator

Procedure

Release the locking tabs on the strut.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Install the actuator to the body bracket pivot first and then install to the liftgate pivot.
Ensure the clip is fully seated when the strut is reinstalled. If the clip cannot be fully seated, a new strut should be installed.
