Installation Procedure

  1. Fig 1: Identifying Power Transfer Unit Drain Plug And Fill Plug

    CAUTION:

    Component Fastener Tightening Caution

    Power Transfer Unit Drain Plug (1) - Install and tighten 40 N.m (30 lb ft)

  2. Fill the power transfer unit to the bottom of the power transfer unit fill plug hole with the recommended fluid. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers , and Approximate Fluid Capacities 
  3. Power Transfer Unit Fill Plug (2) - Install and tighten 40 N.m (30 lb ft)
  4. Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield - Install - Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield Replacement
