Installation Procedure

Install a NEW intermediate steering shaft boot clamp (1) onto the intermediate steering shaft boot.
Position the intermediate steering shaft boot in the vehicle.

Prepare the intermediate steering shaft lower bolt (2) for installation.
1. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive. (2)
2. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. (2) Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

CAUTION:

Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 42 N.m (31 lb ft)
Slide the intermediate steering shaft boot (1) downwards and onto the steering gear.

Use the DT-35910 Drive Axle Boot Clamp Pliers (1) to install the NEW intermediate steering shaft boot clamp.

Remove the CH-42640 Steering Column Anti-Rotation Pin (1) from the steering column lower access hole.
