Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: B70 Liftgate Close Switch
- Verify a test lamp turns On between the test points: Low Reference terminal 1 & B+
- If the test lamp does not turn On
- Test circuit 4656 for an open/high resistance.
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Replace the K194 Rear Gate Module.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns On
- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify the scan tool Rear Gate Close Switch parameter is Inactive
- Test the circuit 4657 for a short to ground
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Replace the K194 Rear Gate Module.
- Go to next step: If Inactive
- Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 3 and ground.
- Verify the scan tool parameter is now Active.
- If not Active and the 3 A fuse is OK
- Test the circuit 4657 for an open/high resistance.
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found.
- Replace the K194 Rear Gate Module.
- If not Active and the 3 A fuse is open
- Test the circuit 4657 for a short to voltage.
- If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found.
- Replace the K194 Rear Gate Module.
- Go to next step: If Active
- Test or replace the component: B70 Liftgate Close Switch
