Installation Procedure
Clean the contact surfaces between the transfer case and the transmission.
- Install a NEW transfer case-to-transmission O-ring (1).
Support the transfer case with a suitable jack, and secure with suitable straps.
- Raise and align the transfer case in the correct position in relation to the transmission.
- Install the transfer case (6) to the transmission.
- Position the wiring harness bracket to the transfer case.
- Install the transfer case-to-transmission bolts (1, 3, 4, 5) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
- Install a NEW transfer case-to-transmission bracket bolt (2) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft) plus 60-75 degrees.
Install a NEW transfer case-to-transmission bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft) plus 60-75 degrees.
- Connect the propeller shaft to the transfer case. Propeller Shaft Replacement
Connect the transfer case vent hose (1) to the transfer case (2).
- Install the transfer case bracket. Transfer Case Bracket Replacement
- Install the right wheel drive shaft. Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (AWD) , or Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (FWD with LGX) , or Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (FWD with LHN)
- Install the catalytic converter. Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Bank 1, FWD) , or Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Bank 1, AWD) , or Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Bank 2)
