Removal Procedure

  1. Turn on the radio and record all of the customer radio station presets.
  2. Ensure that all lamps and accessories are turned off.
  3. Turn the ignition OFF and remove the ignition key.

    WARNING:

    Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .

    Disconnect the electrical connector.(1)

  5. GM4098029

    Use an open ended wrench to hold the battery sensor ground tab, while loosening the battery negative cable nut.

  6. Battery Negative Cable Nut(3) - Remove
  7. Battery Negative Cable(2) - Remove
  8. GM4098031

    Battery Negative Post Clamp Nut(1) - Loosen

  9. Battery Monitor Module(2) - Remove
