- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the component: G36 Auxiliary Heater Coolant Pump
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Perform the scan tool control function: Auxiliary Coolant Pump - On
- Verify a test lamp turns On between the test points: Control circuit terminal 2 @ Component harness & Ground
- If the test lamp does not turn On and the circuit fuse is OK
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off & Remove - Test lamp
- Remove the component: X50A Fuse Block - Underhood
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X1 @ K20 Engine Control Module
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Terminal X1 66 @ Control module harness & Ground
- If less than infinite resistance - Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Terminal X1 66 @ Control module harness & Terminal X4 C4 @ X50A Fuse Block - Underhood
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 ohms
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Terminal X4 B2 @ X50A Fuse Block - Underhood & Control circuit terminal 2
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 ohms - Replace the component: X50A Fuse Block - Underhood
- Connect the electrical connector: X1 @ K20 Engine Control Module
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Perform the scan tool control function: Auxiliary Coolant Pump - On
- Verify a test lamp turns On between the test points: Control circuit terminal 2 @ Component harness & Ground
- If the test lamp does not turn On and Off - Test or replace the component: K20 Engine Control Module
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns On
- Refer to step 7
- If the test lamp does not turn On and the circuit fuse is open
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off & Remove - Test lamp
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Control circuit terminal 2 & Ground
- If less than infinite resistance - Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Replace the component: F92UA Fuse
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Perform the scan tool control function: Auxiliary Coolant Pump - On
- Verify a test lamp turns On between the test points: Control circuit terminal 2 @ Component harness & Ground
- If the test lamp does not turn On Replace the component: X50A Fuse Block - Underhood
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns On
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns On
