Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 GMC Acadia Limited, 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2017 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the infrared transmitter.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 12 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, RSA ON, test for B+ between the control circuit terminal 4 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rear audio/HVAC module.
- Ignition ON, DVD playing, test for varying AC voltage between the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Left DVD audio signal (+) - terminal 1
- Right DVD audio signal (+) - terminal 3
- If AC voltage is not present, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the radio connector X3, test for less than 2 Ω between the test points: audio common circuit terminal 11 at the radio and terminal 2 at the infrared transmitter.
- If greater than the specified value test for an open/high resistance in the circuit. If the circuit test normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition ON, RSA ON, test for varying AC voltage between the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground.
- Left infrared audio signal (+) - terminal 9
- Right infrared audio signal (+) - terminal 11
- If AC voltage is not present, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage, short to ground, or an open/high resistance.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the rear audio/HVAC module connector X1, test for less than 2 Ω between the test points: audio low reference circuit terminal 2 at the rear audio/HVAC module and terminal 10 at the infrared transmitter.
- If greater than the specified value test for an open/high resistance in the circuit. If the circuit test normal, replace the rear audio/HVAC module.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the infrared transmitter.
