Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Power Steering Gear Inlet And Outlet Hoses, Bolt And Seals

  1. Position the power steering gear inlet hose (2) on the vehicle.
  2. Install Power Steering Gear Outlet Hose Seal (4)

    Install a NEW seal.

  3. Install Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose Seal (4)

    Install a NEW seal.

  4. Install Power Steering Gear Outlet Hose (3) @ Steering Gear
  5. Install Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose (2) @ Steering Gear
    6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Install and tighten Power Steering Gear Inlet and Outlet Hose Bolt (1) to 11 N.m (97 lb in)

  7. Secure the power steering gear inlet hose (3) to the drivetrain and front suspension frame using the plastic push pin (2) and the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt (1).
  8. Install and tighten Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose Bracket Bolt (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  9. Secure the power steering gear inlet hose (2) to the engine using the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt (1).
  10. Install and tighten Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose Bracket Bolt (1) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

  11. Install Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose Seal (2)

    Install a NEW seal.

    12. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  12. Install and tighten Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose (1) @ Power Steering Pump to 34 N.m (25 lb ft)
  13. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding
