Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON.
Verify the scan tool Park Assist Switch parameter changed between Inactive and Active while pressing and releasing the parking assist switch.
- If the parameter does not change between Inactive and Active
  Refer to Parking Assist Switch Circuit Malfunction.
- If the parameter changes between Inactive and Active
Verify the parking assist switch indicator turns ON and OFF while commanding the Parking Assist Switch LED output control On and Off with the scan tool.
- If the indicator does not turn ON and OFF
  Refer to Parking Assist Switch Indicator Circuit Malfunction.
- If the indicator turns ON and OFF
Verify the Calculated Transmission Range scan tool parameter is Reverse when the transmission is placed in reverse.
- If the parameter is not Reverse
  Refer to Backup Lamps Malfunction .
- If the parameter is Reverse
Transmission in REVERSE, verify the scan tool Parking Assist System Status parameter displays Enabled.
- If the parameter is not Enabled
  Refer to Diagnostic Aids to determine the cause of the inhibit.
- If the parameter is Enabled
All OK.
