1	Fuel Pump Bolt CAUTION: Alternately hand-tighten the fuel pump bolts one turn at a time until the pump is fully seated. Trying to draw down the pump without even side-to-side tightening may result in pump plunger damage. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedure Add thread locker to the fuel pump fastener threads prior to installing. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers Tighten First Pass: 8 N.m (71 lb in) Second Pass: + 50 Degrees
2	Fuel Pump Gasket NOTE: Install a NEW fuel pump gasket. Ensure the fuel pump housing gasket is properly aligned with the tab upward at the 2 O'clock position.
3	Fuel Pump NOTE: To aid installation of the fuel pump, rotate the engine so that the fuel pump lobe of the intake cam is at it's lowest point. Use the EN-50790 alignment gauge to ensure that the camshaft lobe is in the base circle position. At the base circle position, the tool will be flush with the head. Lubricate the high pressure fuel pump cylinder head bore with clean engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
4	Valve Lifter Follower NOTE: The valve lifter follower may slide out of the cylinder head upon fuel pump removal. NOTE: Lubricate the high pressure fuel pump roller with clean engine oil prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
