Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. For vehicles equipped with adaptive forward lighting (AFL):

  5. Remove and DISCARD the upper stabilizer shaft link nut (1) from the stabilizer shaft link on both sides.
  6. Remove the stabilizer shaft link on both sides from the strut to ease installation of the lower control arm.

  8. Remove and DISCARD the steering knuckle bolt (1) and nut.
  9. Remove wheel speed sensor wiring harness from control arm and steering knuckle.
  10. Separate the lower control arm from the knuckle.

    CAUTION:

    Do not pry in such a way that the ball joint seal is contacted. Damage to the seal may result.

  12. Remove and DISCARD the front lower control arm bolt (1) and nut.

  14. Remove and DISCARD the rear lower control arm rear and bolts (1) and nuts.

  16. Remove the lower control (1) arm from the front frame.
