Removal Procedure
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement
, and Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement
.

- Remove the battery ground cable nut (1).
- Remove the negative cable (2).

- Unclip the generator and starter cable retainers (2, 3) from the body and from the transmission bracket.
- Remove the generator and starter cable conduit bolt (1).

- Disconnect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal from the transmission manual shift lever pin.
- Press the locking tabs inward in order to release the transmission range selector lever cable (1) from the cable bracket.
- Hang the transmission range selector lever cable aside to gain access to the generator and starter cable (4).
- Unclip the generator and starter cable retainers (2) from the rear transmission bracket.
- Unclip the generator and starter cable conduit retainer (3).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

- If equipped, remove the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement

- Remove the starter ground cable nut (3) and remove the ground cable (4).
- Remove the generator and starter positive cable nut (2) and remove the generator and starter positive cable (1).

- Remove the generator positive cable nut (1) and the generator positive cable (2).
- Remove the generator and starter cable.
