Installation Procedure

  1. Position the generator and starter cable.

  3. Install the generator positive cable (2) to the generator.
  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the generator positive cable nut (1) and tighten to 12.5 N.m (111 lb in).

  7. Install the generator and starter positive cable (1)
  8. Install the generator and starter positive cable nut (2) and tighten to 12.5 N.m (111 lb in).
  9. Install the ground cable (4).
  10. Install the ground cable nut (3) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
  11. If equipped, install the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
  12. Lower the vehicle.

  14. Clip in the generator and starter cable conduit retainer (3).
  15. Clip in the generator and starter cable retainers (2) to the rear transmission bracket.
  16. Install the transmission range selector lever cable (1) to the cable bracket.
  17. Connect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal to the transmission manual shift lever pin.

  19. Install the generator and starter cable conduit bolt (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  20. Clip in the generator and starter cable retainers (2, 3) to the body and to the transmission bracket.

  22. Install the battery negative cable (2).
  23. Install the battery ground cable nut (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  24. Install the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement , and Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement .
