Windshield Adjustment

Special Tools  

BO-641  Suction Holder

Equivalent regional tools:Special Tools .

WARNING:

Refer to Cracked Window Warning .

  1. Windshield Replacement  - Remove

  3. Install the windshield header finish upper molding (1) to the windshield (2) .
  4. Fit and lock BO-641  holder to the windshield.
  5. Insert the windshield without adhesive bead with the windshield header finish upper molding on the windshield body frame.
  6. Position the windshield in the middle of the windshield body frame so that the distance between windshield edge and A-Pillar is equal on both sides.

  8. Fix 2 fabric tape (2) over the windshield and the windshield body frame.
  9. Mark the 2 measurement points (1) on fabric tape as shown in the graphic.

  11. Cut the tape on both sides through the dash line (1).
  12. Remove the windshield from body frame.
  13. Apply primer on the windshield.

  15. Apply adhesive bead (1) on body frame.

    Cut into the tip of the cartridge in such a way that a bead of adhesive approx. 13 mm (0.511 in) thick is produced.

  16. NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

  17. Insert the windshield into the body frame using BO-641  holder.

  19. Push the windshield in direction of arrows until it rest against the lower edge of the body frame.
  20. Adjust the windshield so that markings (1) on the fabric tape line up exactly.
  21. Secure windshield in position with fabric tape.
  22. Unlock and remove BO-641  holder from the windshield.
  23. Clean any excess urethane adhesive from the body.
  24. Windshield Replacement  - Install
