Circuit/System Description
The window motors are supplied with B+ voltage which is used to power the motor and also used as a reference voltage within the logic circuit. When the driver or passenger window switch is pressed, a switch is closed causing the reference voltage in the appropriate circuit in the window motor to drop, the window motor responds by moving the window in the direction commanded.
The front power windows can be controlled by the driver window switch. The driver window switch contains window switches that control all power window operations. When a power window switch is activated to a desired position, power window switch will send a serial data message to the body control module (BCM) which will send the command to the appropriate window motor to move the window to the desired position. The window motors will also receive a signal from the BCM to globally express down while lowering the convertible top.
The operator has the ability to command all the windows to express open or express close by using the global express window switch, the body control module monitors the voltage level in the express open and express close signal circuits. The body control module provides a 12 V signal to the express up and express down signal circuits, when the express window switch is pressed, the contacts within the switch are closed, ground is provided to the express signal circuit and the voltage within the signal circuit drops. the body control module detects the voltage drop and will send a serial data message to the driver, passenger and rear window motors to perform express open or express close functions.
