Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Applying force to the plastic housing of the sensor may damage the sensor. To tighten or loosen, apply force only to the attached hexagon.

    NOTE:

    Ensure the fuel rail threads are clean and free of any excess fuel, or the fuel rail pressure sensor will NOT seal properly.

  1. Lubricate the threads and sealing surface of the NEW fuel rail pressure sensor with one drop of clean engine oil.
  2. Install the NEW fuel rail pressure sensor hand tight to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail.
  3. Remove and re-lubricate Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor with one drop of clean engine oil.
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  4. Install Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail and tighten 33 N.m (24 lb ft)
  5. Connect Electrical Connector For Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor
    6. NOTE:

    If a fuel leak occurs at the fuel rail, the fuel rail will need to be replaced.

  6. Pressurize the fuel system and inspect for leaks.
