Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Standard) .
  2. Support the rear axle with a tall jack stand near the shock absorber.
  3. Remove the lower shock absorber bolts. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement .
  4. Using the tall jack stands, slowly lower the rear axle in order to remove tension from the rear springs.

  6. Remove the spring (1).

  8. Remove the upper spring seat/jounce bumper (1) from the spring, while leaving the lower spring seat on the axle.
