Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2012 Buick Regal. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Scan Tool must be disconnected for steps 1 and 2 to allow module to power down.
- Ignition OFF for 1 min, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate rear object sensor.
- Test for less than 30 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If greater than the specified value, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K41 front and rear parking assist control module.
- Ignition ON, activate the parking assist, test for 7.5-9.0 V between the 8 V reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the 8 V reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K41 front and rear parking assist control module.
- If greater than the specified range, test the 8 V reference circuit for short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K41 front and rear parking assist control module.
- Activate the parking assist, test for 7.5-9.0 V between the signal circuit terminal 3 and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K41 front and rear parking assist control module.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K41 front and rear parking assist control module.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the appropriate B78 rear object sensor.
