Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering gear inlet hose on the vehicle.

  3. Connect the power steering gear inlet and outlet hoses (2, 3) and NEW seals (4) to the steering gear.
  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the power steering gear inlet and outlet hose bolt (1) and tighten to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

  7. Secure the power steering gear inlet hose (3) to the vehicle frame using the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt (1) and the plastic push pin (2).
  8. Tighten the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  10. Secure the power steering gear inlet hose (2) to the vehicle engine using the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt (1).
  11. Install the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  13. Install the power steering gear inlet hose (1) and NEW seal (2) to the power steering pump.
  14. Tighten the power steering gear inlet hose (1) to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).
  15. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  16. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
