Installation Procedure

  1. Install the hanger insulators to the muffler assembly.
  2. Install the muffler over the rear axle and towards the rear of the vehicle.
  3. Install the exhaust hanger insulators to the underbody exhaust hangers.
  4. If the vehicle is equipped with AWD, use the utility stand to raise and install the crossmember. Refer to Crossmember Replacement - Rear Suspension .
  5. Install the spare tire heat shield, if equipped with AWD.

  6. Install a NEW catalytic converter gasket.
    7. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  7. Install the catalytic converter to muffler bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Install the spare tire, if equipped with AWD.
