Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT: Replace both retainer fasteners (3,6) to insure proper inflator module positioning.
  1. Install a new retainer push-in fastener (6) to the side impact inflator module (1) when replacing the module.
  2. Install a new retaining fastener (3) to the seat (2) when replacing the module.
  3. Install the electrical connector (5) to the side impact inflator module (1).
  4. Install the CPA (4) to the electrical connector (5) on the side impact inflator module.
  5. Install the side impact inflator module (1) to the seat (2).

  6. Install the 2 fasteners (1) to the side impact inflator module. Secure the module with nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  7. Install the seat back cover. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front in Seats.

  8. Install the seat belt post rear cover (1) to the front section (2).
  9. Install the seat to the original position.
  10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7  or to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 .
