Installation Procedure

  1. Install the battery into the vehicle.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the battery retainer and nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery retainer nut to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  3. Install the nut securing the positive battery cable to the positive battery post.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery cable nut to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  4. Connect the battery negative cable to the negative battery post. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Top Post) .
