IMPORTANT: Twisted wires provide an effective "shield" that helps protect sensitive electronic components from electrical interference. In order to prevent electrical interference from degrading the performance of the connected components, you must maintain the proper specification when making any repairs to the twisted wires shown.
  • The wires must be twisted a minimum of 9 turns per 31 cm (12 in) as measured anywhere along the length of the twisted triplet. The outside diameter of the twisted triplet must not exceed 5.8 mm (0.2 in)
  • The drain wire must be wrapped around the twisted triplet a minimum of 3 turns for the length of the twisted triplet.
  • The twisted triplet and the drain wire must be continuously covered by shield tape aluminum side inward. The shield tape must be covered with tape.
  • Tubing must be against the back of the terminal insulation wings and secured at the other end with tape.
