Removal Procedure
CAUTION:
Approved safety glasses and gloves should be worn when performing this procedure to reduce the chance of personal injury.
IMPORTANT:
The outside mirrors are stud mounted to the door metal. The mirror face can be replaced without removing the entire mirror. The left side flat and right side convex mirror faces must be replaced with the same type mirror face when serviced.
- Carefully push the outside rearview mirror face on the inner edge (near the front door window glass) to allow finger access.
- Grasp the mirror face firmly and pull it from the mirror body.
- Remove the outside rearview mirror case from the outside rearview mirror housing and disconnect the heater wire (if equipped).
- Remove the 2 jackscrews from back of the mirror case.
- 4.1. Bend the 2 jackscrews over.
- 4.2. Press down on the side of the jackscrew popping the screw from the mirror glass case.
- 4.3. Save the jackscrews for reinstallation to the mirror motor.
