Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump to the engine.
  2. Install the power steering pump retaining bolts. Tighten the power steering pump retaining bolts to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
  3. Connect the wiring harness to the power steering pump.
  4. Install the anti-lock brake wiring harness bracket.
  5. Install the right outer tie rod (1) to the steering knuckle (2).
  6. Install the outer tie rod retaining nut. Tighten the outer tie rod retaining nut to 75 N.m (55 lb ft).
  7. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump. Tighten the power steering pressure hose to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
  8. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Install the drive belt.
  11. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System .
  12. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
