HVAC Module Assembly: Installation

  1. Install the HVAC module. Install the HVAC module nuts to the dash. See the illustration for the HVAC module fastener torque sequence. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . See Figure.
  2. Connect the blower control module connection. Connect the I/P harness to HVAC module connector. See Figure. Install the defroster duct.
  3. Install the defroster duct module mounting screws. Install the defroster duct mounting nut to the front of dash. See Figure. Tighten to specification. Install the air distributor duct.
  4. Install the air distributor duct screws. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the I/P assembly. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
  5. Install the heater hoses to the heater core using the hose clamp pliers. See Figure. Install NEW seal washers to the fitting.
  6. Connect the evaporator hose connection to the evaporator. See Figure. Install the evaporator hose nut. Tighten to specification. See TTORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Recharge the A/C system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Leak test the component. Refill the engine coolant.
