Code Enable Criteria

• Engine speed is 1000-2500 RPM (Bonneville, Grand Prix, LeSabre, Park Avenue and Regal).
• Engine speed is 1000-2000 RPM (Impala and Monte Carlo).
• TP angle more than 10 percent.
• Engine load is more than 45 percent.
• ECT more than 140°F (60°C).
• Maximum system spark retard less than 15 percent.
• System voltage more than 9 volts.
• Engine run time is more than 30 seconds.
• No active CKP, ECT, MAF, TP or VSS sensor DTCs set.

DTC sets when PCM detects a KS 1 or a KS 2 signal voltage within calculated average voltage range.
