System Check

  1. Check fuses to door modules. RDM and DDM fuses are in rear fuse block. PDM fuse is in instrument panel fuse block. Replace as necessary.
  2. With ignition switch in RUN position, operate each window up and down from master switch assembly. Each window should operate quietly and smoothly, with no sticking.
  3. Operate each window from individual window switch. Each window should operate quietly and smoothly, with no sticking. Driver window should travel down fully without switch being held (express down feature). Turn ignition off. Operate each window. If power windows do not operate for about 10 minutes or until door is opened after ignition is turned off, repair retained accessory power system as necessary. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - PARK AVENUE article.
  4. If windows move slowly, ensure battery is fully charged, terminal contact and ground connections are okay. Check window regulator lubrication. Ensure aftermarket equipment is properly installed. Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). See DOOR SYSTEMS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
