Theft Deterrent Control Module Replacement: Installation

  1. Install theft deterrent module (2) to ignition lock module (1). See Figure .
  2. Route electrical harness and connect electrical connections.
  3. Install a new wire harness strap to upper tilt head assembly (2). See Figure .
  4. Install new wire harness straps to wire harness assembly (3).
  5. Install wire harness assembly into wire harness strap (5).
  6. Connect theft deterrent module electrical connector.
  7. Install steering column trim covers.
  8. Enable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
  9. Program theft deterrent module. See THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING.
