Electronic Brake Control Module: Removal

  1. Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) is located in left front fenderwell. Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) and EBCM are individual units that are connected. Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise and support vehicle. Remove left front wheel and inner fender.
  2. Clean all contamination from and around EBCM. Rotate the EBCM connector tab up to the unlocked position. Remove the EBCM CPA from the EBCM electrical connector Disconnect the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) electrical connector from the EBCM.
  3. CAUTION: DO NOT pry BPMV from EBCM. If seal is damaged, seal MUST be replaced.
  4. Remove the 6 EBCM-to-BPMV screws. Separate BPMV from EBCM by gently pulling forward.
