DTC B1658: EEPROM Checksum Error: Testing

  1. Perform the appropriate Diagnostic System Check. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  . Go to next step.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Retrieve DTCs. If DTC is current, go to next step. If DTC is history, recheck system.
  3. Perform the setup procedure for the affected module if required. See PROGRAMMING  . Replace the affected module. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Go to next step.
  4. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs. Operate the vehicle. If DTC resets, go to step  2 . If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
