A/T Shift Lock Control Solenoid (Column Shift)

1. Remove the knee bolster bracket. See KNEE BOLSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove the steering column upper and lower trim covers.
2. To adjust the A/T shift lock control solenoid, pull the tab (1) out on the block side (2) of the A/T shift lock control solenoid. See Fig 1 .
3. Place the gearshift lever in the NEUTRAL position. Press on the adjuster block (2) to compress the internal adjuster spring to disengage the adjuster teeth. Slide the adjuster block (2) as far away from the solenoid as possible. See Fig 1 .
4. Place the gearshift lever in the PARK position. Lock in place by pushing the tab (1) back in.
5. Inspect the A/T shift lock control solenoid for proper operation.
6. Install the steering column upper and lower trim covers. Install the knee bolster bracket. See KNEE BOLSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
