Test A: Security Indicator Inoperative

  1. Perform theft deterrent diagnostic system check. See THEFT DETERRENT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing system operation check, go to next step.
  2. Observe instrument cluster. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If SECURITY indicator does not illuminate during bulb check, go to next step. If SECURITY indicator illuminates during bulb check, system is okay
  3. Security indicator malfunction is instrument panel-related. Diagnose instrument cluster circuits. See appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article. After repair, go to next step.
  4. Operate system to verify repair. If system does not operate properly, go to step  2 . If system operates properly, system is okay.
