Scan Tool Does Not Power Up

  1. Using DVOM, check for battery voltage at DLC terminal No. 16 (Orange wire). If voltage exists, go to next step. If voltage does not exist, repair open or short to ground in DLC power feed circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system.
  2. Check for ground at DLC terminal No. 4 (Black wire). If ground is okay, go to next step. If circuit is open, repair Black wire between DLC and G202, located behind driver's side kick panel. Recheck system.
  3. Check DLC terminals No. 4 and No. 16 for poor contact. If no problem is found, go to next step. If any problem is found, repair as necessary. Recheck system.
  4. Check scan tool. See scan tool instructions. Try scan tool on another vehicle. Recheck system.
