3.8L Engine

- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove accessory drive belt. Disconnect generator harness connector. Remove positive battery cable from generator BAT terminal. Remove the positive cable nut. Remove canister purge solenoid. Remove generator rear brace mounting bolt. Remove generator mounting bolts (2, 3, 6). Remove generator (1).
- To install, Install the generator (1). Install the generator bolts (2, 3, 6). Tighten the generator bolt (2, 6) to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N.m). Tighten the generator bolt (3) to 37 ft. lbs. (50 N.m). Install the canister purge solenoid. Install the positive cable to the generator to BAT terminal. Install the positive cable nut. Tighten nut to 16 ft. lbs. (22 N.m). Connect generator harness connector. Install accessory drive belt. Connect the negative battery cable.
