Test B: Seat Does Not Move Forward/Back

  1. Using test light connected to ground, backprobe horizontal adjuster motor connector C1 terminal "A" (Tan wire). Horizontal adjuster motor is located under respective seat, mounted to seat track. Press power seat switch to forward position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  3 .
  2. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe horizontal adjuster motor connector C1 terminal "B" (Light Green wire). Press power seat switch to back position. If test light illuminates, go to step  4 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  5 .
  3. Check for poor connection or open in Tan wire between power seat switch and horizontal adjuster motor connector C1. If circuit is not okay, repair poor connection or open in Tan wire between power seat switch and seat adjuster motor connector C1. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation. If connection and circuit are okay, replace power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  4. Using test light, backprobe between horizontal adjuster motor connector C1 terminals "A" (Tan wire) and "B" (Light Green wire). Press power seat switch to forward, then back position. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to step  6 . If test light does not illuminate in both positions, replace power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  5. Check for poor connection or open in Light Green wire between power seat switch and horizontal adjuster motor connector C1. If connection and circuits are okay, repair poor connection or open in Light Green wire between power seat switch and horizontal adjuster motor connector C1. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation. If circuit is not okay, replace power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  6. Check for poor connections at horizontal adjuster motor connector C1. If connections are okay, go to step  7 . If connections are not okay, repair poor connections at connector C1 as necessary. Recheck circuit operation.
  7. Replace horizontal adjuster motor. See DRIVE MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
