DTC B3267: DECKLID Relay Output Short To Ground/Open: Testing

  1. Perform body rear end diagnostic system check. See BODY REAR END DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM harness connector C3. Turn ignition to ON position. Using a test light connected to good ground, test Brown wire at BCM harness connector C3 terminal A9. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  4 .
  3. Turn ignition off, reconnect BCM harness connector and install scan tool. Turn ignition on and retrieve codes. See BODY REAR END DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC B3267 resets as a current DTC, go to step  9 . If DTC B3267 does not reset as a current DTC, go to step  13 .
  4. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, backprobe Brown wire at BCM harness connector C3 terminal A9. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  6 .
  5. With test light still connected as in step  4 , disconnect decklid release relay harness connector. If test light illuminates, go to step  10 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  8 .
  6. Using a test light connected to ground, probe Brown wire at decklid release relay harness connector terminal C2. If test light illuminates, go to step  11 . If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  7. Using a test light connected to ground, probe Orange wire at decklid release relay harness connector terminal A1. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  12 .
  8. Replace decklid release relay. After repair, go to step  14 .
  9. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacement, perform set up procedure. See NEW BCM SETUP  under PROGRAMMING. After replacement, go to step  14 .
  10. Repair short to ground in Brown wire between decklid release relay connector terminal C2 and BCM harness connector C3 terminal A9. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repair, go to step  14 .
  11. Repair poor connection or open in Brown wire between decklid release relay connector terminal C2 and BCM harness connector C3 terminal A9. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repair, go to step  14 .
  12. Repair poor connection or open in Orange wire between decklid release relay connector terminal A1 and DOOR LOCKS fuse (20-amp) in fuse block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repair, go to step  14 .
  13. Malfunction is not present. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  for additional information. After repair, go to next step.
  14. Turn ignition to OFF position. Reinstall all disconnected or removed components/connectors. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If all repairs are complete and DTC B3267 does not reappear, system is okay. If repairs are not complete and DTC B3267 does reset, go to BODY REAR END DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
