DTC B2533: Front Fog Lamps Control Circuit High: Description

BCM controls fog lamp relay located in underhood accessory wiring junction block. BCM receives an input from fog lamp switch and energizes the fog lamp relay by grounding the fog lamp relay control circuit. BCM will ground the control circuit only if ignition switch is in ON position, headlight switch is in park or headlight ON position, and headlight dimmer switch is in LOW BEAM position.

DTC B2533 will be stored in memory if BCM detects a short to battery voltage in control circuit for more than 0.3 second when it is commanding the fog lamp relay to energize. SERVICE VEHICLE SOON light will be illuminated when this code is stored in memory.

A current DTC B2533 will clear if short to battery voltage in control circuit is no longer detected by BCM. A history code B2533 will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if conditions for setting DTC are no longer present. A scan tool may be used to clear DTC B2533.
