Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC B3031 is set, go to next step. If DTC B3031 is not set, system is operating properly.
  2. Using scan tool, check for PASS-Key(R) II DTCs B2957 or B2958. If either of these DTCs exist, go to appropriate DTC test. If these DTCs do not exist, go to next step.
  3. Replace BCM. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. Go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Reinstall any connectors or components that were removed. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Clear DTCs. Check BCM for DTCs. If no BCM DTCs reset, system is okay. If any DTCs reset, see appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
