DTC U1000: Loss Of Class 2 Serial Data Fault: Testing

  1. If BFC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BFC diagnostic system check was not performed, see procedures in BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, establish communication with BFC. If communication can be established, go to next step. If communication cannot be established, go to step 4).
  3. Using scan tool, establish communication with other modules. If communication can be established, go to step 5). If communication cannot be established, go to next step.
  4. Locate and repair problem in DLC system. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Go to step 7).
  5. Clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC U1000 exists, go to next step. If DTC U1000 does not exist, go to step 7).
  6. Replace BFC. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Go to next step.
  7. Clear DTCs. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
