- Disconnect cruise control module assembly connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Hold cruise control switch in ACCEL/RESUME position. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between cruise control module assembly connector (harness side) terminal "C" (Gray/Black wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is not present, go to step 3). If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
- Replace cruise control module assembly. See CRUISE CONTROL MODULE ASSEMBLY .
- Hold cruise control switch in ACCEL/RESUME position. Using a DVOM connected to ground, backprobe Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) coil assembly connector C2 terminal "C" (Gray/Black wire) located under left side of instrumental panel, near steering column. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, go to step 5).
- Repair open in Gray/Black wire between SIR coil assembly and cruise control module assembly.
- Hold cruise control switch in ACCEL/RESUME position. Using a DVOM connected to ground, backprobe Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) coil assembly connector C1 terminal "C" (Gray/Black wire) located under left side of instrumental panel, near steering column. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, go to step 7).
- Replace SIR coil assembly. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
- Replace cruise control module assembly. See CRUISE CONTROL MODULE ASSEMBLY .
