Charge Indicator Light Never On
NOTE:
The VOLT indicator or CHECK GAGES message with engine outline does not illuminate at any time.
- Disconnect generator connector. Using jumper wire, connect harness connector terminal "L" (Red wire) to ground. Turn ignition on. If indicator light illuminates, go to next step. If indicator light does not illuminate, go to step 3).
- Check generator connections. Repair as needed. If connections are okay, replace generator. Recheck system.
- Reconnect generator connector. On Aurora, disconnect PCM Blue 80-pin connector C1. On Riviera, disconnect PCM Clear 80-pin connector C2. On Aurora, connect a fused jumper wire between PCM connector C1, terminal No. 75 and ground. On Riviera, connect a fused jumper wire between PCM connector C2, terminal No. 35 and ground. On all models, if indicator light illuminates, go to next step. If indicator light does not illuminate, go to step 5).
- Check PCM and generator connections for open or poor contacts. Check wiring between PCM and generator. Repair as needed. Recheck system.
