Left Seat Does Not Manually Move In Any Direction
NOTE:
After repair or component replacement is completed, perform appropriate MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING
to verify system is functioning properly.
- Perform POWER SEAT MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Ground memory seat diagnostic connector, located under driver seat. Memory seat/mirror module will chime once to indicate Mode 1 has been entered. Operate driver's seat switch in all directions. Memory seat/mirror module should chime once at each switch input. If any seat switch positions caused memory seat/mirror module chime to sound, go to next step. If any seat switch position did not cause memory seat/mirror module to sound, go to LEFT SEAT DOES NOT MANUALLY MOVE IN ONE DIRECTION and diagnose each suspect switch individually.
- Disconnect left seat switch White, 12-pin connector C306. Using DVOM, check voltage between left seat switch harness connector terminal "A" (Orange wire) and ground. See Fig 1 . If 10-15 volts exists, go to next step. If 10-15 volts does not exist, go to step 8).
- Check voltage between left seat switch harness connector C306, terminals "A" (Orange wire) and "E" (Black wire). If 10-15 volts exists, go to next step. If 10-15 volts does not exist, go to step 9).
- Briefly connect fused jumper wire between left seat switch harness connector C306, terminals "A" (Orange wire) and "G" (Tan wire). If left seat moves forward, go to step 7). If left seat does not move forward, go to next step.
- Replace memory seat/mirror module. See MEMORY SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
- Replace left seat switch. See POWER SWITCHES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
- Repair open or short to ground in Orange wire between left seat switch and splice S339. Recheck system operation.
- Repair open in Black wire between left seat switch and ground. Recheck system operation.
