Programming SBM

Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) inside SBM is programmed with proper RP0 configurations with information about vehicle options and point of sale. When SBM is replaced, new SBM must be programmed to identify the following information: Real Time Damping (RTD), memory options, Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM), HVAC and dual-zone HVAC, and country of sale.

If SBM is not programmed properly, vehicle will experience a no-start condition. If SBM is not configured properly, SBM will set default values for some systems, which may cause malfunctions in other systems.
