Memory Function Switch Inoperative

NOTE: After repair or component replacement is completed, perform POWER SEAT/MIRROR MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING to verify system is functioning properly.
  1. Perform POWER SEAT/MIRROR MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
  2. Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and memory function switch terminal "D" (Black wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 6).
  3. Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and memory function switch connector terminal "A" (White wire) if MEMORY-1 is inoperative or terminal "B" (Purple wire) if MEMORY-2 is inoperative. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 7).
  4. Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and left front power window switch connector terminal No. 3 (White wire) if MEMORY-1 is inoperative or terminal No. 2 (Purple wire) if MEMORY-2 is inoperative. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 8).
  5. Replace left front power window switch. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER WINDOWS article.
  6. Check for open in Black wire between left front seat switch and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  7. Replace memory function switch. See MEMORY FUNCTION SWITCH R & I  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  8. Repair open or short in White wire if MEMORY-1 function switch is inoperative. Repair open in Purple wire if MEMORY-2 function switch is inoperative. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  9. Repair open in Black wire between left front seat switch and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
