Left Front Seat Does Not Move Manually In One Direction
NOTE:
After repair or component replacement is completed, perform POWER SEAT/MIRROR MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING to verify system is functioning properly.
- Perform POWER SEAT/MIRROR MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
- Operate left front seat switch in inoperative position. Using test light, backprobe left front seat switch harness connector terminal "L" (Black wire) and appropriate left seat switch harness connector terminal. See IDENTIFYING LEFT FRONT SEAT SWITCH CIRCUITS table for terminal and wire color identification. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 4).IDENTIFYING LEFT FRONT SEAT SWITCH CIRCUITS
Application Terminal/Wire Color Entire Seat Back B/Light Green Entire Seat Forward E/Tan Front Height Down A/Dark Blue Front Height Up D/Dark Green Headrest Down M/White/Black Headrest Up K/Dark Blue/White Rear Height Down C/Light Blue Rear Height Up F/Yellow Recline Down G/Light Blue Recline Up H/Light Green - Check for open in appropriate wire of inoperative circuit. See IDENTIFYING LEFT FRONT SEAT SWITCH CIRCUITS table. If suspect circuit is okay, go to step 5). If open is found, repair as necessary.
- Replace left front seat switch.
- Disconnect inoperative seat motor connector. Connect a fused jumper (20-amp) between positive battery voltage and either seat motor connector terminal. Connect second fused jumper (20-amp) between ground and other motor connector terminal. If motor operates, go to next step. If motor does not operate, replace motor. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in SEATS - POWER article.
- Repair open or short to ground in appropriate wiring. See IDENTIFYING LEFT FRONT SEAT SWITCH CIRCUITS table.
