Left Lumbar Support Does Not Move Manually In One Direction

NOTE: After repair or component replacement is completed, perform POWER SEAT/MIRROR MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING to verify system is functioning properly.
  1. Perform POWER SEAT/MIRROR MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
  2. Operate left lumbar switch in inoperative position. Using test light, backprobe between lumbar switch connector terminal "E" (Black wire) and inoperative terminal as follows:
    • Lumbar in - terminal "B" (Dark Blue wire).
    • Lumbar out - terminal "C" (Yellow wire).
    • Lumbar down - terminal "A" (Yellow/Black wire).
    • Lumbar up - terminal "F" (White wire).

    If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 4).

  3. Check for open in appropriate wire. Repair as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuits are okay, go to step 5).
  4. Replace left lumbar switch.
  5. Disconnect inoperative lumbar motor connector. Connect fused jumper (20-amp) between battery voltage and either lumbar connector terminal. Connect second fused jumper (20-amp) between ground and other lumbar connector terminal. If motor operates, go to next step. If motor does not operate, replace lumbar motor.
  6. Repair open or short to ground in Pink, Dark Blue, Purple or Tan wire between left lumbar motor and memory Seat Module (MSM). See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
